Obituary of Jake Bundrick Jr.

Lexington, SC – A Celebration of Life service for William Martin “Jake” Bundrick, 88, of Lexington, will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, October 24, 2022 at the Lakeside Gazebo in Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Pastor Trevor Miller will officiate. Burial, with US Navy honors, will follow the service. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the Gazebo. Woodridge Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jake Bundrick was born in Winnsboro, SC in the Fairfield County area to William Franklin Martin Bundrick and Rebecca Ann Padgett Bundrick. He grew up in the Elmwood Park Community in Columbia, SC. After serving in the Navy, Jake met and married Dixie Yvonne Davis Bundrick. Together, they had four children and lived the majority of their life in Lexington, SC.

Jake was a self-employed Masonry Contractor and worked mainly in Lexington and Richland counties for over 30 years. He was very talented and creative with his craft and had a way to bring visions to life.

Jake was a past Master of Lexington Masonic Lodge 152, a charter member of The Jamil Temple Hillbilly unit, a member of Lexington Baptist Church and The Country Club of Lexington.

Jake loved his wife, his children and his grandchildren. He was a very passionate man that loved deeply but struggled greatly to find inner peace and express himself in a way others could receive him. He was all in with whatever he took on, and you didn’t have to wonder where you stood or what he was thinking.

Jake is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Dixie Yvonne Bundrick, of Lexington, SC; daughters, Karen Bundrick Koon (Danny) of Lexington, SC, Janet Elizabeth Powell (Eric) of North Augusta, SC; daughter in law, Janine Butler Bundrick of  Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Christopher Matthew “Matt” Bundrick (Brittany) of Irmo, SC, Scotty Cameron Koon (Megan) of Cayce, SC, Catherine Elizabeth Powell of New Orleans, LA; great- granddaughter, Finley June Bundrick; sister,Peggy Douglass of Murrells Inlet, SC. Jake is also survived by his “best grand dog”, Toby.

Jake was pre-deceased by his parents; son, William Martin “Marty” Bundrick Jr.; an infant son at birth; and grandson, William Martin “Mark” Bundrick III.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Horeb UMC 10:10 Bridge After School Program, 1205 Old Cherokee Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
