My condolences to you Mrs. Davis and your children. Just yesterday I was commenting to Milton that I had not seen you or Mr. Davis in years and wondered how I could contact you. I looked on the internet for your name just this morning and found that Mr. Davis has gone on to be with the Lord. I m so sad that I didn't get to see him again. Both of you were always such good Christian friends to us. His life was a witness for the Lord that he loved.
With love and prayers.

I know Mr. Davis is in a better place but I will miss seeing him walk around our neighborhood. He always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. First time I met him he was cutting thru my back yard and I thought "who is this man on my property?" I discovered that he was a sweet man with such a big heart. May his wonderful wife June and the family find peace knowing he was a wonderful man to everyone he met. Prayers to the family.

The Davis family has been special in our life. Ed and June were such friends to Larry when he was in Columbia in school and preparing to go into the military. Then to Judy and Larry as they began their married life. Ed was such an encouragement to us. Always a smile and word of encouragement. And his faithfulness!!! He was the "rock" of the Columbia Wesleyan Church. Thank you Ed for the influence you had on so many lives. You will be missed as you have gone on to your reward. Our prayers are with you June, Laura, Susan, Nadine, Carey and Joy. Your loss is heaven's gain. May the peace of knowing that Ed lived his life as a servant of God comfort you.

I was fortunate to see Uncle Ed in the hospital and he asked me whether or not Jesus gracious statement was an exception or the rule. "Today thou shall be with me in paradise." Knowing how good I am (not) at giving certain answers for question where I may not be sure what his real question is, I showed him this picture.
It is of a White Admiral or Red spotted Purple butterfly. He had flown by my office and I stepped outside and followed him around the parking lot. I did not get many "good" shots. She finally flew around the back of the building and alit above me on a white fir tree. She didn't immediately fly away so I reset the flash and shot it again as I tried various angels I hemmed-hawed around with God's eternal nature and how He must view time. The picture though brought to mind different Idea. I don't deserve to be there with the Father in heaven. I am too good at sin to deserve it.
That butterfly, like us, is amazing and wonderful in the way it has been created. Like us in that it is imperfect and does not deserve to be in God's presence. Like us in sin, only a silhouette of what God created us to be. But. Like us, in God's grace It is light apart from ourselves that illuminates what we shall be. 1 John3:2 "Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
Heaven is where He is and when we are there we will light up like that butterfly. Illuminated into in the wonderfully transformed creatures God has created us to be - Uncle Ed to be. He shall be what he wanted - like HIM. Perhaps Ed was asking, "if it's today will I be like HIM." From what I know of Uncle Ed and what I know of God and Christ, the answer is YES!

I will never forget the day that Zachary was born & Ed brought me roses. He was very kind to me... & he teased me about something or other every time I saw him! I loved that about him. I'm far away, but I'm thinking about you all.
