Obituary of Paula T McDonald

OBITUARY – Paula T. McDonald – A Celebration of Life memorial service for Paula T. McDonald, 76, of Cayce, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 16th, 2023, at Broad Acres Baptist Church, 2350 Taylor Road, Cayce, SC 29033.  Pastor Shane McDaniel will officiate. A reception will be held for family and friends in the Church Fellowship Hall following the service. A private committal service for the family will be held at a later date. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Paula McDonald passed away on September 12, 2023. Born in Topeka Kansas, she was a daughter of the late Charles Raymond Thayer, Sr., and Evelyn Youngblood Thayer.  Her family moved to South Carolina shortly afterwards.  Paula graduated from Airport High School. She married Raymond McDonald in 1968 and had three lovely daughters. She was a proud military wife for 22 years, and she and Raymond celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year.  Paula was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister! She loved playing spades and traveling with her family.

Paula is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, V.R. McDonald; daughters, Jody Hudson (Christopher), Jessica Sorrell (Andrew); grandchildren, Terrieanne Jones, Ian Hudson, Sean Hudson; great granddaughter, Addison Jones; sister, Wanda Weaver (Jesse, II). Paula is also survived by a large and loving extended family. In addition to her parents, Paula was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Aultman, and her brother, Charles Thayer, Jr.
