Obituary of Harrilyn Monty Chalk

Harrilyn Monty Chalk, 80, of West Columbia, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Reverend Harry Chalk and Eula Chalk.

Harrilyn was a retired RN at Fort Jackson. She loved traveling and spending time in her flower garden. Her compassionate Christian spirit touched everyone she met. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and community.

Harrilyn is survived by her sister, Connie Chalk Counts; daughter, Lisa Shealy Rice (Will); sons, Ernest Guy Shealy, III (Leigh) and Walter Perry Shealy (Branelle); her grandchildren, Dylan Rice (Heather), Anna Shealy, Ella Shealy, Bailey Shealy, Bryleigh Howe and Braeden Howe. She was also blessed to have two great grandchildren, Casey Rice and Hunter Rice. She was predeceased by her brother, Foy N. Chalk.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 6-8 pm at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Rd., Lexington, SC 29072. Burial service will be private.
