Obituary of Pam Hislop

OBITUARY – Pamela Kay Dolan Hislop - A gathering of family and friends for Pam Hislop, 78, of West Columbia, will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Woodland Hills Community Church, 2626 Ashland Rd, Columbia, SC 29210. Pam requested only a private family service. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Pam passed away July 5, 2022, at her home. Born in Berkeley, California and raised in her beloved Colorado, she was a daughter of the late Lester Francis Dolan and Mildred Cook Dolan. Pam was known for her warm hospitality and the welcoming table she set, adding beauty to all she did. She loved her garden, and was an efficient planner and organizer, famous for her endless lists.

Everyone’s cheerleader, Pam was always ready with a word of encouragement and a funny story from her experience. She was famous as a sympathetic listener and a practical counselor. She was selfless and fun to be around. She took in students who had nowhere to go for the holidays and made everyone feel at home. She was everyone’s mother. Pam was a member of Woodland Hills Community Church.

Pam is survived by her loving husband, Lindsay Hislop; daughter, Holly Lynn Hanekamp (Trevor) of Waterdown, Ontario, Canada; son, William Douglas Hislop (Amy) of Gilbert, SC; grandson, Isaac Douglas Hanekamp (Hailey) of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario; granddaughter, Madeline Grace Hanekamp of Waterdown, Ontario; granddaughter, Lindsay Bess Hislop of Gilbert, SC; grandson, William Dolan Hislop of Gilbert, SC; sister, Kathy Crawford (Art) of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, Doug Dolan of Colorado Springs, CO. Pam was predeceased by her parents.
