Janie Knicely

Obituary of Janie Knicely

Services for Jane “Janie” McKinnon Knicely will be private. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Janie Knicely passed away on July 2, 2022. Janie is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Derby; daughter, Katie (Daniel) of Lexington; sister, Lara Brown (Tack) of Union; nephew, Austin Brown; mother-in-law, Judy Knicely of Myrtle Beach; and aunt, Ellen Rodriguez of Plantation, Florida. She was predeceased by her father, Donnie McKinnon and mother, BeeBee Brown; step-parents, Martha McKinnon and Bill Brown; and brother-in-law, Jamie Knicely.

Words cannot describe the kind of wife, mother, sister, aunt, or friend Janie was. She was fierce, fun, loyal, and above all else, loving. Janie never met a stranger and brightened every room she stepped into. Anywhere Janie went, the fun followed. Janie had the rare gift of knowing exactly what someone needed before they did. She would always like to be on Lake Murray, on the beach shores, or lounging around by the pool with her family. An avid nature lover, she loved sitting in her quiet oasis and watching her hummingbirds and any new wildlife that came through.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Janie’s name to Pawmetto Lifeline, 1275 Bower Pkwy, Columbia, SC 29212, or your local ASPCA agency, such as Lexington County Animal Services, 321 Ball Park Rd, Lexington, SC 29072.
