Marie Andrews
April 12th, 1940 – December 8th, 2021
Marie Andrews, 81, of Irmo, S.C., passed away Wednesday, December 8th, 2021, while vacationing in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Marie was born in Chesnee, S.C. to the late Enora and Spurgeon Green. She is survived by her husband, Walter; daughters, Wanda (Glenn) Shull of Johns Creek, GA, Donna (Doug) Kurtz of Austin, TX; grandsons, Rhett (Tilly) Shull, Evan and Harrison Kurtz; granddaughters, Anna Marie Shull, MacKenzie and Ryan Kurtz. In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by a sister, Evangeline Blanton, and a sister, Emily Jolley. Marie retired from Lexington-Richland School District 5 with over 25 years of service as an Administrative Assistant at Irmo High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially cooking for her grandkids. Marie was a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church where she enjoyed the fellowship of many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 12th, 2021 at St. Andrews Baptist Church with Dr. Ronald “Dee” Vaughan officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Dutch Fork Baptist Church in Irmo, S.C. Due to COVID concerns, there will be no formal visitation or reception at this time. Arrangements are being handled by Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington, S.C. The family would like to thank the first responders and EMS of Horry County, and the staff of Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach for their compassionate care and support.
