Obituary of Mary Elmore Barrett

Graveside funeral services for Mary Elmore Barrett, 94, of Chapin, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2018 at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington. Chaplain Edwards of the Lowman Home will officiate. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington.

Born in Bishopville, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Benjamin Elmore and Adlene Smith Elmore. Mary had retired from the SC Department of Mental Health after 40 years of service. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and aunt who enjoyed flowers and gardening. Mary was a long-time member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church in Chapin.

Mary is survived by 2 sisters-in-law; many loving nieces and nephews, and a large and loving extended family.   In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Robert C. Barrett, Sr., and a son, Robert C. Barrett, Jr.
