Obituary of Christine Gibson Laster

Christine Elizabeth Gibson Laster, wife of Patrick Alvin Laster, Sr., crossed over to wait for us to join her in eternity, January 4, 2013. She is joined by her son, Kevin Andrew Laster, Sr., her very beloved mother, Birdie Lee Gibson; brothers, Davis L. Gibson, Bobby Gibson and Gene Gibson. Mrs. Laster was employed by the State of South Carolina for Technical Schools before she retired to be the perfect grandmother and great grandmother, who enjoyed spending her time with her family, baseball season, and most of all football season. Christine Laster was born October 24, 1940 and leaves behind her husband of 55 years, along with her little PJ and Lucky, daughter, Katherine Leigh Hoover, son, Patrick Laster, Jr., son and wife, Rebecca; the greatest joy of her life, her grandchildren, Jason Corey, Jessica Elizabeth, Kevin Andrew Jr., Caroline Christine, Patrick Alvin III and Lucas James, Caitlyn Isabell, Samantha Nichole, and great grandchildren, Alexandra Marie, Morgen Helana, and Jason Corey Jr., as well as in-laws, claimed sisters, Charlette Gibson, Doll Gibson and Hazel Gaitans, and very special nieces and nephews such as Vickie, Stevie, and Mikie just to name a few. Her family wishes to thank Pallative Care @ SRMC and Senior Hospice Care for the excellent compassionate care given in such a time of need. The family also requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312, or the American Stroke Foundation, 5960 Dearborn, Mission, KS 66202, so one day one won?t have to endure such suffering because a cure will be found. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2013, at Woodridge Memorial Park Gazebo.
