Marion,
Billy and I enjoyed hearing Gordon's stories — he told them with such flair and humor.
We missed y'all so much when you moved from Winding Way.
Glad you made it back and that Jenni is here also.
See you soon.

We were so sorry to hear of Gordon's passing. Our church feels we have lost one of our own after having a chance to know Gordon and the rest of your precious family. He always had a smile and kind word for everyone he encountered there, and fit in as though he had been there always. Prayers for comfort and peace for you Marian, Jenni, and Ms. Bernice.

Gordon has been such a special part of our family; and he always wanted to make sure that no one was left out of family gatherings. We'll always remember his infectious laugh and how he enjoyed playing in their pool with our kids and anyone who would join in. Although their was no blood relationship, he was always " Uncle Gordon" to David and Sarah and has been known to spoil them royally . Once he drove Sarah from Atlanta to Charlotte to meet David and their friends for a day at Carowinds and she came back with a stuffed animal (bulldog. of course! ) and all sorts of candy that Uncle Gordon had bought her at Walmart. He has " rescued " both David and Sarah several times - Remember David's first day at CIU? He always made Bob and I feel welcome and special, too. We'll miss you so much, Gordon. Marian.Jenny and Bernice, we would love to be there in person to hug y'all and remember special times in Gordon's life, but our prayers and love are with y'all and we are looking forward to seeing y'all this summer. Love , Becky and Bob

My first memory of Gordon and Marian (my first cousin), was when they brought baby Jenni to visit @ Bigmama ' s house in Pine Mountain, GA, where my Daddy and Aunt Bernice were born and grew up. I thought they were so beautiful and fun...and they were! Gordon always made me laugh and told great stories, often embellishing them for us children. He was a good listener too. I remember many good conversations on the porch there through the years or at the family gatherings they hosted which were a highlight with fun, fellowship and good food. Often even a low country boil, which Gordon liked to do. In later years these continued to include my little family and they cherish those memories as well. He was refereed to fondly as "Uncle Golden" by my kids for a long time.
We will miss your kindness, dashing smile and great laughter, Gordon. May the Lord hold fast to your family and strengthen and comfort them as they have had to say "goodbye" for now!
