Mr. Harold Snuffer passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018. Born in Beckley, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Paul Harold Snuffer and Rose Carmen Cook Snuffer. Harold was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who would go out of his way to accommodate and help others in need. He worked for many years as an HVAC and transportation refrigeration specialist, as both an employee, and self-employed. Harold served his country honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was very mechanically gifted, and could repair most anything. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and being in nature. He was of the Baptist and Independent faiths, and attended church with his wife. Even though he suffered with orthopedic health challenges in recent years, Harold was quick-witted, and maintained a great sense of humor. He had a gift for cooking, and friends remember his wonderful country meals and fish fries. His friends remember him for his "unique snack preferences". He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Harold had a great impact on the world around him. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Deborah A. Snuffer; son, Robert P. Snuffer (Amanda) of Pelion, granddaughter, Maddison R. Snuffer; brothers, Thomas "Tom" Snuffer (Terry) of Charleston, WVA, Michael "Mike" Snuffer (Sherry) of Charleston, WVA; sisters, Elizabeth Doran (Joe) of Charleston, WVA, Peggy Perdue (Charlie) of Cross Lanes, WVA, Polly Snuffer of Cross Lanes, WVA. Harold is also survived by his wife's mother, Mary V. Fleming, and a large and loving extended family. In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by his brothers, John Snuffer and Mark Snuffer. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of the WJB Dorn VA Medical Center for their attentive care during his illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301, or Vietnam Veterans of America, 8719 Colesville Road, Suite 100, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
