Obituary of Karl Schuler

Karl Schuler June 30, 1933 - January 12, 2018 Karl Schuler, age 84, of Lexington, SC, entered his heavenly home on Friday, January 12, 2018. He was born in Germany on June 30, 1933 to Albert and Natalie (Arndt) Schuler Sr., escaped with his family to Poland during the war, and was sponsored and arrived to the United States when he was 18 years old. He was very proud to become a US citizen. He married Jeanette Kublick on March 5, 1954 in Michigan. He was a skilled master woodworking craftsman and spent his retirement years making furniture, cabinets and decorative pieces for his children and grandchildren. He was extremely delighted when one of them would have a request for something he could make in his workshop. He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church of Monroe, NC. He enjoyed volunteering for remodeling work that Pastor Bobby Cato envisioned and traveling to area nursing homes with his dear closest friend, Woodrow "Woody" Mills, to entertain the residents with singing and music. Surviving are his wife, Jeanette, his children; Donna (Ronald) Nichols of Columbia, SC, Karen Wilson of Irmo, SC, Timothy (Nancy) Schuler of Palm Bay, FL, Jeffrey Schuler of Rock Hill, SC, Lisa (Kary) Combs of Mint Hill, NC, grandchildren; Anthony (Mary), Aaron (Joy), Andrew (Catie), Susan, Timothy, David (Kelly), Nicole (Chris), two step- granddaughters; Kristin, Jessica (James), nine great-grandchildren, two step-great- grandchildren. Also surviving him are his sisters, Else Wolske of Eau Claire, MI, Erika Mai of Stevensville, MI, and Trudy Jendralski of Green Valley, AZ., along with many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Schuler, son-in-law, Gary Wilson, granddaughter, Dawn Schoff, his parents, his brothers; Reinhold Schuler and Albert Schuler Jr. A private family service will be held.
