Obituary of Patti Hall Sawyer

LEXINGTON- Patti Hall Sawyer, of Lexington South Carolina died Tuesday December 26, 2017. Patti was born October 29, 1959 in Greenville, South Carolina. She was deeply loved by her mother and father, Paulette (Polly) and Kay Thomas Hall, who both preceded her in death. Patti and her brother Thomas Lyle Hall were raised in the Earlewood Neighborhood of Columbia, South Carolina. Patti had many lifelong friends but two of her longest were Lorraine Love Buckwell and Elizabeth Swilley Sheridan, who Patti loved from early childhood and both of whom were with her as she died. Patti was a graduate of Columbia High School (1977) and attended Columbia College. Patti always loved her dogs, any dogs but she really loved her wirehaired fox terriers - Kelly, Duchess, Terra , her best buddy ever Hickory who died at 15 years old just before Patti's birthday this year, and Bella Baby. Patti was the wife of Glenn C. Sawyer, Jr., for almost 33 years and the most loving mother of Kayla Sawyer Minter. Kayla and her husband Aaron provided Patti with her three most precious joys, aside from Kayla, her Grandchildren Lilly, Andrew, and Eleanor. Another of Patti's joys was "going to have fun", usually at the beach in her camper, especially with the kids to "do it all" before hitting the "trail of tears" to go back home. Surviving Patti are her husband Glenn; daughter Kayla Minter (Aaron), her three Grandchildren Lilly, Andrew, and Eleanor; her brother Tommy Hall (Barbara) and their daughter Heather Blume (Brandon). Patti is also survived by her in-laws Glenn and Joyce Sawyer with whom she bonded as family from the very start. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073 and will be officiated by Chaplain Curtis Snead. The family will receive friends following the service at Patti's childhood home, the home of her brother Thomas and his wife Barbara.
