Obituary of Philip Thomas Ott

Phillip Thomas Ott, 91, of Swansea, South Carolina passed away December 27, 2017. He was born on September 27, 1926 in Cope, South Carolina to Grover Ott and Lula Griffith Ott. Phillip served his country by joining the USMC. Following his career in the Marines, he went into law enforcement where he worked as a detective for the City of Columbia Police Department. He would later end his career in private security with Seibels Bruce Company. Phillip is survived by his loving wife of nearly 69 years, Carolyn Ott; grandchildren, Robert Traylor (Stacie) and Amanda Scott (Ed); five great grandchildren; brother, Graham Ott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Traylor and two siblings. Graveside funeral services will be at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 12 PM. Interment will follow in the cemetery.
