Obituary of Phillip E. Girard

Phillip E. Girard, Jr. "Little Frenchie" July 15, 1949 - December 8, 2017 Columbia - The family of Phillip E. Girard, Jr. announces his passing on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the age of 68. Phil will be lovingly remembered by his wife Patricia, of 46 years; his son Beau and his wife Krystal and grandchildren; his son Andre and his wife Pam; his father Philippe E. Girard, Sr.; and his sisters Barbara and Lynn. Phil was born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts and served in Vietnam as a Force Recon Marine. He was wounded three times, receiving three purple hearts, two bronze stars and several other accolades. Phil worked at the Post Office and retired after 30 years of service. Please join us in celebrating Phil's life and remembering and honoring his love for the Marine Corps, family, history and his country. In lieu of flowers, please make donation to PAALS online or any animal rescue of your choice. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 6-8pm at Woodridge Memorial Park and Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 9:30am, Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Woodridge Memorial Park and Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 12pm.
