Obituary of Louise Vincent Hallman

Columbia- A graveside funeral service for Louise Vincent Hallman, 100, of Columbia, (most recently of Generations of Batesburg), will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072, and officiated by Rev. Jeremiah A. Thomas. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centennial A.R. Presbyterian Church, 1413 Laurel Street, Columbia, SC 29201, Mrs. Hallman died Thursday, November 30, 2017. Born in Charlotte, NC on September 15, 1917, she was the third of six children born to Hugh Edward and Louise Lawton Vincent. She was a graduate of Varnville, SC High School where she was a member of the girls' basketball and track teams. She was the wife of the late James W. Hallman, Jr., who died in 1992 after over 50 years of marriage. She was a homemaker, who in her earlier years was actively involved in her church and community. She was a member of Centennial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church for over 65 years. Mrs. Hallman leaves a legacy of faith, love, kindness and laughter. Surviving Mrs. Hallman are her daughters Allene Hallman DuBose (Bill) of Leesville, Evelyn Hallman Geddings of Batesburg (formerly of Columbia), grandchildren Mark DuBose of Monetta, SC and Laura DuBose Goodson, DVM (Brent, DVM) of Pelzer, SC and four adored great-grandchildren Caroline and Laci DuBose of Monetta and Garrett and Bryce Goodson of Pelzer. She is also survived by a sister Lalla Vincent Rentz (John) of Asheboro, NC and a sister-in-law Edith Parker Vincent of Anderson, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hallman was preceded in death by a son-in-law Daniel L. Geddings of Columbia, sisters Betty Vincent Harper (Walton) of Bluffton, SC, Helen Vincent Brawley (Allen) of Statesville, NC and brothers T. Lawton Vincent (Elizabeth) of Richmond, VA and Dr. Hugh T. Vincent of Anderson, SC. The family wishes to thank Dr. Janice Hossler of Batesburg-Leesville Family Medicine and Hospice Care of Tri-County (Newberry) for their compassionate care to our beloved mother.
