Obituary of SSGT Donald Allen Owen

COLUMBIA - SSGT. Donald "Donny" Allen Owen, US Army, (Ret.) A private, family memorial service for Donald A. Owen, 66, of Columbia, will be held at a later date. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. SSGT Owen passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late John T. Owen and Margaret Cooke Milam. Donny honorably served his country for 21 years in the US Army, and served 2 tours in Vietnam. He enjoyed watching Gamecock football. Donny is survived by his wife of 16 years, Linda Britt Hurst Owen; daughter, Donna M. Owen; step-son, Robert W. Hurst; grandson, Owen Gillam; sister, Brenda O. Gaines; brothers, John C. Owen, Daniel G. Owen, Barry J. Owen; former wife, Diane Owen and a large and loving extended family. Donny was predeceased by his parents.
