Obituary of Dorothy Stancil McDaniel

Dorothy "Dottie" Stancil McDaniel - West Columbia - Graveside services for Dorothy "Dottie" Stancil McDaniel, 61, of West Columbia, will be held at a later date in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 4830 Columbia Road NE, Orangeburg, SC, 29118. The family will greet friends from 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM Friday, September 1, 2017 at Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Mrs. McDaniel passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at her residence with her loving husband by her side. Born in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late Buren Pinkney Stancil and Thelma Warner Stancil. Dottie loved the Lord, and she and her husband are members of Shepherd's Chapel. Dottie was a loving, caring person who was quite shy, but loved everyone. Anyone who was privileged to know her loved her in return. Dottie lost her 3 year battle with breast cancer after the disease metastasized to her brain. Dottie is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Jody McDaniel; daughters, Kimberly Smith (Jerry) of Seattle, WA; Ellison Wilson (Josh) of Atlanta; son, Christopher McDaniel of Orangeburg; grandchildren, Noah, Aidan, Savannah and Landon Smith, Presley Wilson, Parker McDaniel. In addition to her parents, Dottie was predeceased by her brother, Joe Stancil. The family would like to thank her oncologists, Dr. Stillwell and Dr. Mentor for their attentive care.
