Obituary of Helen Gantt Blume

Helen Gantt Blume , 94 , of Columbia, wife of the late Horace James Blume, passed away Monday July 17, 2017 at Fairview Park Assisted Living, Simpsonville , SC . She was born on July 29, 1922, in Winnsboro, SC to the late Robert Lee and Jessie Bell Dove Gantt. She was a retired bookkeeper for the South Carolina Department of Mental Health and a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons; Horace James Blume, Jr., (Lydia) of King, NC and Rev. Clarence Lee Blume (Kay) of Greenville, SC. , six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda B. Brown , and son-in-law, William T. Brown; a son Jerry Eugene Blume and a brother, Robert Lee Gantt. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Friday, July 21, 2017 at St. Andrews Baptist Church, 230 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29204.
