Obituary of Robert Heyward Williams

Robert "Bob" Heyward Williams, 81, of West Columbia passed June 15th in the comfort of his home after an illness. Born February 5, 1936, he is a descendant of one of the founding families in Pine Ridge. His father helped established the Congaree Baptist Church. Bob worked for Dixie Electronics for 50 years. He was elected State Governor of the Moose Lodge in Tennessee and North Carolina. He was an avid golfer and fisherman throughout his life A devoted husband, Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn. Together they enjoyed raising their four children: Robert, Jr.(Bobby), Michael (Mike), Mark (Tony) and Dawn. He is survived by their four children, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.. He was a beloved friend, father and husband and will be sorely missed. Services will held Monday, June 19th at 10AM at Congaree Baptist Church 101 Pine Ridge Drive, West Columbia 29172. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the services at the church. It is requested to bring a "covered dish" to the Celebration of Life.
