Obituary of James A. Robinson

A memorial service for James A. Robinson, 80, of Lexington, will be held at 3:00 PM, April 22, 2017 at the home of Ann and Scott Milligan. Rev. Dr. James Glatz will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service. Jim Robinson passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Born in New York City, he was a son of the late Alton Robinson and Evita Marita Parker Robinson. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Gunnery Sergeant in the Third Battalion, and served during the Korean Conflict. Jim was a former Vice President at Uddeholm Steel Corporation, and retired as President of Robinson 3-S Corporation. He enjoyed gardening, reading and crossword puzzles. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Mary Ann Tauer; daughters, Jeanne Robinson Kirk (Robert) of Hackettstown, NJ, Ann Robinson Milligan (Scott) of Lexington, SC; sons, Ryan Robinson (Michelle) of Carrboro, NC, Quinn Beversluis (Ellen Indelicato) of Louisa, VA; grandchildren, James Schempp, Douglas Kirk, Lindsay Milligan, Colin Milligan, Gunnar Beversluis, J. Peter Beversluis. In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his first wife Kathryn Managan Robinson, daughters, Donna Eileen Robinson Schempp and Pauline Patricia Robinson; brother, Joseph Robinson; sister, Pauline Robinson Axell; brother-in-law, Paul Axell. The family would like to thank the staff of Irmo Dialysis, and the staffs of the Fifth Floor at Lexington Medical Center and Agape Hospice House of Lexington for their attentive and loving care.
