Obituary of James L. Meyer

James L. "Jim" Meyer, 81, of Lexington, SC, formerly of Pittsburgh and McDonald, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017. Jim was the son of the late Peter and Elizabeth Taylor Meyer. Jim was a loyal member of Steamfitters Local 449 of Pittsburg, and a founding member of the Baldwin Whitehall Soccer Association, where he served as President and Vice President for a number of years. He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies in both Lexington and Pittsburgh. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Ann Meyer; daughters, Barbara (Guy) Kopp of Belle Vernon, PA and Diane (Joseph) Tweed of Midway, PA; son, Kevin Meyer of McKeesport, PA; and 3 grandchildren. Jim is also survived by his sister, Betty (De) Hicks of Aiken, SC. A military funeral and interment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA will be held at future date. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington, SC is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
