Obituary of Macon B. Woodlief

LEXINGTON - Macon B. "Woody" Woodlief passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 91 on Friday, March 3, 2017. Born September 25, 1925 in Wake Forest, NC, he was the son of the late Leamon A. and Rosabell Young Woodlief. Woody retired as Secretary/Treasurer and shareholder of SC Tractor and Equipment Company and was a long time member of Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church. Woody served in the US Navy in his younger years, was a member of the American Legion Post 7 and will be remembered as an honest, independent, self-made gentleman who loved to fish. He was a loving husband of 46 years to wife Sylvia Woodlief, who has been by his side as his caregiver and dedicated companion. In addition to his wife, Woody is survived by his sons, David Woodlief (Janet) and Bradley Woodlief (Paula); step-daughters, Tara Almond (Reggie), Dedi Passerini (Mark) and Sonya Langhorne; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Gregory Woodlief, and sister, Hazel Keith. Services will be held at the Mausoleum Chapel of Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 1:00PM. Interment will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 4:00 - 6:00 PM, Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #7, P.O.
