Obituary of Edna Celestine Roof

Edna Celestine Roof LEXINGTON - Funeral services for Edna C. Roof, 82, of Lexington, will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Fish Hatchery Road Church of God, 3249 Fish Hatchery Road, Gaston, SC 29053. Pastor Wendell Hendrix will officiate. Interment in Woodridge Memorial Park will follow the service. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, March 3, 2017 at Woodridge Funeral Home, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Mrs. Roof passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her home with family. Born in Gilbert, she was a daughter of the late Nathan O and Ursula Smith Miller. Celestine was a loving wife and mother who will be missed. She was a co-owner of Roof's Landscape Nursery, and she enjoyed her work at the Nursery and meeting friends. Celestine is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Darius Roof; son, Ronald Roof (Brenda) of North; daughter, Diane Roof; 4 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brothers, Morris Miller (Violet), Nathan "Junior" Miller, Charles Miller (Violet), Milo Miller (Virginia), Carroll Miller (Lindy), Donald Miller (Sandra), Gordon Miller (Evelyn), Gene Miller (Leicia); sisters, Doris Clamp (Curtis), Linda Quig (Joe). In addition to her parents, Celestine was predeceased by a brother, David Miller; sister, Edith Quattlebaum Leaphart. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fish Hatchery Road Church of God.
