Obituary of Jerry Lee Padgett

Jerry Lee Padgett 75, of Lexington passed away on Friday January 20, 2017. He was born on October 23, 1941 in Laurens to the late Clyde James Padgett and Dorothy Louise Walker Padgett. Jerry had a big heart and always helped ones in need. He was a caregiver to both of his parents; taking care of his father night and day for four years until his father's death at 99. He always kept his sense of humor even through his sickness. A brave man who didn't complain or even moan during his illness: never even wanting medicine for pain. He is survived by a daughter, Sheila Padgett Bryant (Kevin); two sons, Anthony C. Padgett (Friday) and Barry Lee Padgett (Jenny); a sister, Evelyn Padgett Cox; a brother, Bobby J. Padgett; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Norman W. and Billy R. Padgett; a sister, Joanne Padgett Bagwell. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday January 22, 2017 at Nazareth Pentecostal Holiness Church, 472 Two Notch Road Lexington SC 29073. Special thanks to nieces Donna Holder, Cindy Watson; granddaughter, Shelby Padgett and sister and brother-in-law Karen and Danny O' Neal for their love and special care. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Nazareth Pentecostal Holiness Church or the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
