Obituary of Edna Josephine Robinson Christie

Edna Josephine Robinson Christie Lexington, SC - Mrs. Christie, affectionately known as "Jo", passed away on December 27, 2016. She was born April 25, 1922 in Pidcoke, Texas; the daughter of the late Valeria Franks Robinson and Benjamin Henry Robinson. She was pre-deceased by her husband and love of her life, Robert R. "Bob" Christie, Jr. Jo and Bob were married for 65 years and enjoyed an amazing life together. They raised and are survived by four children: Robert R. Christie, III (Barbara); Charles Lee Christie, Sr. (Jean); Jan Christie Warner (Steve); and Carolyn Christie Linton (Pat). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Mary Jean Goodfellow, and nephew, David Wallace. In addition to her husband and parents, Jo was predeceased by four siblings, Zelma, Ann, Stan and Gil. Jo and Bob enjoyed life - playing golf together and traveling extensively. They were devoted, active members of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC. An aspiring artist, Jo loved to paint in oils and watercolors, and also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and taught Sunday school. She was greatly loved by many. A private family service will take place at Fourth Presbyterian Church's Memorial Garden on January 21, 2017. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life at 2 p.m. January 21, 2017, in the Fellowship Hall of Fourth Presbyterian Church, 703 E. Washington Street, Greenville, SC 29601. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1990 Augusta St., #600, Greenville, SC 29605. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington, SC is assisting the family.
