Obituary of Douglas Ward Shealy

CHAPIN-Douglas Ward Shealy, 76, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016. Born October 12, 1940 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of David Ward and Lila Frick Shealy. A graduate of Lexington High School, Douglas worked for the US Postal Service as a rural letter carrier in Lexington for 33 years. Douglas is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lynette Davis Shealy; daughters, Tracy Shealy and Karen Wellens (John); brother, Richard L. Shealy (Sharon); sister, Loretta S. Shields; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one niece, and his beloved dog "Bear." A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church, Chapin, SC. A visitation will be held immediately following the service. A private interment will be held at a later date.
