Obituary of Alice Marie Layton

Gaston - Alice Marie Layton - Funeral services for Alice Marie Layton, 79, of Gaston, will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Lakeside Gazebo of Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington. Pastor David Pell will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Woodridge Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Friday, September 30, 2016 at Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington. Mrs. Layton passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Agape Hospice House of Lexington. Born in Ironton, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Louise Gammon Stevens. Alice was the loving matriarch of her family, and will be remembered for her many sayings, which were a gift from God. She has earned her angelic "butterfly wings" in Heaven. Alice is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Gregory K. Layton; daughter, Judy Harris of Troy, Ohio; sons, Terry Barker (Pam) of Circleville, Ohio, and Kevin Barker of Gaston; daughter, Melanie Young (Michael) of Gaston; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Harder (Walter) of Kenton, Ohio, and a large and loving extended family.
