Columbia - A Funeral Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Mildred "Miki" A. DeSanto Robinson at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 22, 2016 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 1529 Assembly Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Father Gary Linsky will celebrate the Mass. The family will greet friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Monday, August 22, 2016, at Neglia Hall at St. Peter's Catholic Church prior to the Mass. Miki passed away Friday, August 19, 2016. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Henry W. and Lydia Campbell Anderson. Miki dedicated many years to public service and retired from the U.S. Civil Service. Her most interesting employment came when she worked as a "Rosie the Riveter", during World War II. She was a lover of creatures great and small, with the exception of mice. She was well versed in many areas of life, and always enjoyed a stimulating conversation, reading, sports and cultural events. You knew you had to bring your "A" game to any conversation with her. Miki was a wonderful and caring mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. She is survived by her children; daughter, Sherry Loper (Reggie) of Springfield, Georgia, Nancy Chavious (Bill) of Columbia and Donna Hill (David) of Mt. Pleasant. "Gran Mick" is also survived by seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Anderson and sister, Dorothy Cauley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church.
