Obituary of Michael L. Lee

Funeral services for Michael L. Lee, 53, of Cayce, will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at Gantt Street Baptist Church, 2121 Gantt Street, Cayce, SC 29033. Pastor Micah Brackett will officiate. Entombment in the Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum will follow the service. The family will greet friends from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Wednesday August 3, 2016, prior to the service at the church. Michael passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016. Born in Columbia, he was a son of Charles H and the late Glenda Reeves Lee. He was a 1981 graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School, and was an employee of the West Columbia Fire Department. He often cared for the lawns of his elderly neighbors, and would do anything for anyone. He was a dedicated member of Gantt Street Baptist Church, where he served as a Greeter. He was a loving son, brother and uncle who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his father, Charles H. Lee of Cayce; brothers, Charles H. Lee, Jr. (Beulah) of Ft. Myers, FL, Ronnie Sheppard of Lexington, Jimmy Sheppard of Columbia, Robbie Sheppard (Jenny) of Lexington; sisters, Kathy Sheppard of Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Robin Grandy, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Glenda Reeves Lee, and a brother, Allan Wayne Lee. The family would like to thank the staff of the 8th floor tower at Lexington Medical Center for their attentive care, and Pastor Gene Rowell of Gantt Street Baptist Church for his loving stewardship and support of Mike's family during his illness.
