Obituary of Novaline Lawson Bee

Funeral services for Novaline Bee, 96, of West Columbia, will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Mausoleum Chapel of Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC, 29072. Pastor Bill Harmon will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM Monday, August 1, 2016, at Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington. Novaline Bee of the Community of Agape Village in West Columbia SC; went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday July 30, 2016, at the age of ninety-six, following a forty-five day stay in Millennium Nursing Home. She was born in Robbins, Tennessee on November 9, 1919; to Perry Lawson and Mary Lou Pryor Lawson. Her family moved to the Fairmont, West Virginia area during the Great Depression. Novaline's life included many different jobs and activities. She worked ten years as a welder at Westinghouse Electric Co. in Fairmont, WV during World War II. In 1960, she moved to Morgantown, West Virginia and worked at Sidler's Department store for two years. Her last job in life was a Certified Executive House Keeper for West Virginia University, taking care of college student housing; she supervised many workers in this career. After retiring from West Virginia State University, she and her husband Ersel moved to Lexington, SC in 1980. They both enjoyed bowling at Anchor Lanes in Irmo. While bowling on a league in Morgantown, she rolled a 699 series. Novaline's life was centered on her family. She was a member of West Columbia Nazarene Church. She is survived by two sons, William "Jim" Sigley (Sandra) of Barrackville, WV and Donald R. Sigley (Betty) of Lexington, SC. She is also survived by six grandchildren, fifteen great- grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and four siblings. She married her late husband Ersel G. Bee on June 24, 1960. They were married for forty-seven years at the time of his passing.
