Obituary of Ruby Lee Hicks Hartin

Ruby Lee Hicks Hartin, widow of William Rhett Hartin, Jr., passed away on February 6, 2016. Ruby Lee was the eldest daughter of Willie E. Hicks and Alma Kennedy Hicks of Florence, SC. She is survived by one sibling; her brother, J.W. Hicks of Orangeburg, SC.; her son, William (Bill) R. Hartin, III and her daughter, Rhetta Lee Hartin, both of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, W. Rhett (Darcy) Hartin, IV of Columbia, SC and Wendy Hartin (Tommy) Traylor of Murrells Inlet, SC; three great-grandsons, William Rhett Hartin, V, T. Brooks Hartin of Columbia, SC and Charles C. Graham, III of Little River, SC, along with many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hartin enjoyed her family, cooking and her church, St. Martin's-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church in Forest Acres, where she was the oldest founding Charter Member. She initiated the Altar Guild and the Wedding Committee. A private family service will be held . The family would like to thank the nurses at Countrywood Nursing Home, Cheryl, Becky, Candace, Brittany and Tinker for their love and care for the past 10 years. Memorials may be made to St. Martin's-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, 5220 Clemson Avenue, Columbia, SC 29206. No flowers please.
