Obituary of Susan Lou Brown Maas

WEST COLUMBIA - SUSAN LOU BROWN MAAS. Services for Susan L. Maas, 71, will be private. Mrs. Maas passed away Monday, January 11, 2016. Born in Saginaw, MI, she was a daughter of the late Louis Frederick and Jane Ivone Brown. She graduated from Saginaw High School, and attended Delta Community College. Susan dedicated her life to raising her children and watching her grandchildren grow up. Susan was a selfless person who always put others' needs before hers. She took pride in her gardening, cooking and baking for family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, and shared a love for reading and traveling. Susan will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Ray C. Maas; son, Kenneth R. Maas (Jennifer) of Aurora, Illinois; daughter, Jennifer J. Maas-Lenart of West Columbia; grandchildren, Brandon and Justin Lenart, Kyle Ritli, Noah and Brooklyn Maas; brothers, David Brown (Kathy) of Destin, FL, and Daniel Brown (Vickie) of Shields, MI, and a large and loving extended family. Susan was a breast cancer survivor, and the family requests no flowers, please. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 531 S.
