Obituary of Raymond A. Kelly
Raymond A Kelly, Sr., 70 years young of Columbia, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 with his family at his side. He was born on February 22, 1945 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Silas W and Jessie A. Kelly
Raymond is survived by his children; Iris Byrne, Roger Cunningham (Priscilla), Lois Fann, Raymond Cunningham (Tammy) and Raymond A Kelly, Jr. (Amy); 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers and sisters; Roxanna Cromwell, Ronnie Kelly, Myrtle deWerdt and a large number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kelly was predeceased by his wife, Pansy Thompson Kelly and brother, Rhett Kelly.
Raymond lived each day as it came and he grabbed a hold of life at it's fullest. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Orion along with being a mason and long standing member of Goff Swamp Hunting and Fishing Club where he was an avid hunter, fisherman, anything outdoors but first and foremost, he was a family man. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to everyone.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Woodridge Memorial Park Funeral Home, Lexington, SC at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening, January 13, 2016 also at Woodridge.
