Allen Hunt slipped into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jacksonville, FL, he was a son of the late Arthur W. and Nora Jane Allen Hunt. Allen Hunt lived and loved life. It doesn't matter how big your house is, or how fancy your car may be; what matters is your dash. The dash is the hyphen between the beginning and the end of your life, and let me tell you, Allen's dash was remarkable. Those who loved him know what that little line is worth. He was raised in a loving Christian home, with three sisters and one brother. Allen met the love of his life Darleen, and they were married February 16, 1974; a love that lasted an eternity. Love for his family was his dash. He was a loving husband, a loving father and a loving grandpa. Allen and his family were members at Bethel Assembly of God. His hobby was NASCAR, and he loved listening to country and gospel music. He loved traveling with his family, visiting the mountains and walking the beaches. He was a compassionate person, who always thought of others first. He was always living life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Anna Darleen Hunt, of the residence; daughters, Tonya Moss (Rodney) of Lexington, SC; Sondra Hunt of Winston-Salem, NC; Belinda Bowers (Rick) of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Chastity Harrell (Nick), Danielle Shearer, Hunter Simmons, Brittney Simmons, Krystina Bowers; 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 1 brother, 3 sisters and a brother-in-law. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, 102 Fortress Drive, Chapin, SC 29036.
