Obituary of Marvin R. Ward

~ Marvin R. Ward of Lexington, South Carolina passed on December 13, 2015 at age 64. Marvin was born on December 15, 1950 and was the Son of Otis and Vera Ward, Husband of Nancy D. Ward, Father of Crystal T. Walker, Marvin D. Ward (Bubba), and Tryson Blue Ward, Brother to Diane, Shelby, and Evone, Grandfather to 8 Grand Kids and 1 Great Grand kid. He also had many nieces and nephews that he loved as well. Marvin was a very hard working man. He had over 40 years in construction with Burris Building Systems. He built many buildings around the midlands from tall buildings in Columbia to small businesses around town. When he wasn't working he loved to work in his garden, shoot pool, play horse shoes, watch football, nascar, and sing karaoke. Marvin was a simple man who didn't have a lot of possessions but what little he did have he was willing to share and give to those in need,-- You didn't even have to ask because he would ask "do you need anything?" From the outside you could get the impression that he was mean and tuff as nails, that he was…But those who knew him would tell you he had a heart of gold! He was full of pride and proud to be a Father and proud of his kids and grandkids. In fact he would tell anyone who would listen how great they were. Last but not least the ones who knew Marvin will tell you that above everything else in life he loved his wife Nancy unconditionally, and even when they got into a disagreement and got on each other's nerves everyone knew they were just "Two peas in a pod". We all knew they would always be by each other's side and together forever and nothing would ever change that! We all loved him very much and will always remember him as "The hardest working man ever known!"
