Obituary of Matthew William Cravets

MATTHEW WILLIAM CRAVETS Matthew "Matt" William Cravets, 54, of Columbia, left his earthly home and went to join his parents and brother November 9, 2015. Matthew was born December 9, 1960 in Monterey, California, to the late Robert Charles and Ethel Irma Johnson Cravets. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Columbia. Matt loved his family, and loved to tinker and fix things. Matt was a high-top tree climber by profession, prior to his disability. Matt is survived by his companion of 19 years, Jamie Shockley; son, Jesse Cravets of the home; three daughters, Shanda Kelly of Columbia, Victoria and Emily Cravets of Lexington; former spouse and close friend, Frances Poorbaugh of Lugoff; sister, Cindy Hornbaker of West Virginia; brother, Bruce Cravets of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Laura, Christopher and Crishanda Kelly of Ocala, Florida, Madison and Allison Kelly, and Levi Brown of Columbia. Matt was predeceased by a brother, Richard Cravets, and a niece, Devon Harvey. A private memorial service is planned for Saturday, November 21, 2015. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington assisted the family with arrangements.
