Obituary of Consuelo Alfaro Williams

Columbia - Consuelo Alfaro Williams - A Funeral Mass for Consuelo Alfaro Williams, 85, of Columbia, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, November 12, 2015 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 1529 Assembly Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Father West will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington. Consuelo died at Providence Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends, Sunday, November 8, 2015. Born in Detroit, MI, she was a daughter of the late Gervasio and Isabelle Durand Alfaro. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She had retired from Bellsouth after 37 years of service. Following her career, she was a 1994 graduate of The University of South Carolina with a degree in Inter-Disciplinary Studies. She is survived by her loving daughter, Laura Nicolai Kent of Port Royal, SC; sons, Karl Nicolai of Columbia and John Patrick Nicolai (Bonnie) of Beaufort; grandchildren, Jessica Vigil (George), Justin Thane Nicolai, Jack Nicolai, Caroline Nicolai, Luke Nicolai; great-grandson, Gabriel Vigil; brothers, Mitchell Alfaro of Detroit, MI, Herbert Alfaro (Joyce) of St. Clair Shores, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William A. Nicolai; son, Billy Nicolai; grandson, 1st LT Phillip Kent; brother, Ricardo Alfaro, and sister, Helen Hebel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church.
