Obituary of Kenneth Raymond Bain

Lexington - Kenneth Raymond Bain - A memorial service for Kenneth Raymond Bain, 75, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the offices of Amedysis Hospice, 220 Stoneridge Drive, Suite 105, Columbia, SC, 29210. The family will receive friends and host a pot-luck meal after the memorial service at the same location. Friends are encouraged to bring a dish and stories to share. Burial services will be held at a later date in Waverly Cemetery in Waverly, Virginia. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Kenneth died October 6, 2015 at Agape Hospice House in Columbia. Born in Waverly, VA, he was a son of the late Floyd Franklin and Elva Faison Bain. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Coast Guard, and spent many years living near the coast in the 1950's and 1960's along The Grand Strand of South Carolina, before moving to Columbia. As a lover of all water, Kenneth spent much free time on the lakes, rivers and swamps of South Carolina. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the entire outdoors. He is survived by his daughter, Allison Fraser of Lexington; son, Kenneth Riley Bain of Lexington; grandson, Ethan Bain; granddaughter, Madison Bain. He was pre-deceased by his former wife, Virginia Riley Bain; brothers, Robert F. Bain and William F. Bain; sister, Marian Bain Lowery. Flowers may be sent in care of the family to Woodridge Funeral Home, or in lieu of flowers, memorials (in honor of Kenneth Raymond Bain) may be made to Amedysis Hospice, 220 Stone Ridge Drive, Suite 105, Columbia, SC, 29210.
