Obituary of Margaret Hydrick Still

Margaret Hydrick Still, wife of the late William Pierce Still Jr., passed away Sunday January 4, 2015 at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, SC surrounded by her family. Mrs. Still was born on March 29, 1922, in Orangeburg, and was one of four children born to the late Jacob Calvin Hydrick Sr. and Mattie Mae Myers Hydrick. She was trained as a nurse and worked for several years at different hospitals in the greater Columbia area, selflessly devoting her career for the care of others. She was a devout member of St. Andrews Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing and taking care of granddaughters and great grandchildren. Surviving are two sons, William R. Still, Sr. (Kathleen) of Taylors, SC and Charles Still (Janet) of West Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Jennifer Still and Bart Brodowski of Irmo SC, Jessica Still and Derrell Dunnigan of Gaston, SC and William R. Still, Jr. of Taylors, SC; great-grandchildren, Conan, Pierce and Stefan Brodowski, and Cailey Wellborn, Adalynn and Dakota Dunnigan. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Andrew Calvin Still. Graveside funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Gazebo at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Columbia, SC 29072. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Woodridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbot Drive, Cayce, SC 29033. The family expresses much thanks to the nursing staff at Lexington Medical Center for their kindness
