Obituary of Gary Dee Cottrell

Gary Dee Cottrell, 68, of Lexington, husband of Jean Anita Whitacre Cottrell, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Born in Troy, Tennessee, he was a son of the late J.D. and Letha Greene Cottrell. Mr. Cottrell retired from textiles and was a member of Lexington Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; Geoffrey Cottrell and Preston Cottrell (Alana); two brothers, Kenneth Cottrell (Jan) and Philip Cottrell (Jacquie). In addition to his parents, Mr. Cottrell was predeceased by a sister, Linda C. Holloway. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, November 17, 2014 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Woodridge Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
