Obituary of Karl B. Matthews

Karl B. Matthews, 72, of Leesville entered his heavenly home, Friday, August 29, 2014. A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 3:00pm in the mausoleum chapel of Woodridge Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington SC 29072. The family will greet friends following the service in the chapel. The family has entrusted Woodridge Funeral Home in handling the arrangements. Born on January 28, 1942 in Batesburg, SC he was the son of the late Simon Harold and Trannie Matthews. Mr. Matthews retired from Union Switch and Signal in Batesburg, SC in 2004. Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Edith R. Matthews; children, Mona M. Garrick and Keith A. Matthews; brothers, Simon R. and Dale Matthews; sister, Vernelle Bouknight; four grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is predeceased in death by his brothers, Clyde E and H. Dean Matthews.
