Obituary of Betty Jean Blankenship Morris

Betty Jean Blankenship Morris, 73, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Bush River Memorial Gardens, Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12pm until 1pm prior to the service in the chapel. Woodridge Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mrs. Morris was born, January 17, 1941 in Eastman GA. She was the daughter of the late, Grover Nolan and Edna Day Blankenship. She was married to the late, Jackie L. Morris and retired from Lexington State Bank. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Surviving to cherish her memory are son, Jon C. Morris (Kim); daughter, Sherry J. Whittaker (Joe); grandsons, Jonathan C. and Nicholas S. Morris; great-granddaughter, Kloie G. Morris; sister, Jaunita B. Williams; brother, John H. Blankenship. In addition to her parents and husband she is predeceased in death by sister, Joyce B. Harris and brother, Calvin B. Blankenship. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Agape Hospice House, 141 Stoneridge Drive Columbia SC 29223. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the caring staff of Amedisys Hospice Care and Agape Hospice House for their care of Betty.
