Obituary of Rebecca Shealy Baines

Lillian Rebecca Shealy Baines, 94, of Lexington passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014. Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 11am in Woodridge Memorial Park. Reverend Dermon Sox will officiate. The family will greet friends at the graveside following the service. The family has entrusted Woodridge Funeral Home in handling the arrangements. Born in Lexington County on October 10, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Baxter and Janie Ethel Derrick Shealy. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Mrs. Baines was a homemaker and a talented seamstress and avid flower gardener. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law, Betty Ann Rawl Baines of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Dr. Beth A. Browne and her husband, Dr. Louis Browne of Greenville, SC and Janie R. Neeley and her husband, Chris G. Neeley of Bentonville, AK; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kathleen, Nick and Tuck. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her son, Prescott "Sonny" Baines; brother, Heyward Eldridge Shealy; sisters, Gerdie Kleckley, Marjorie Stoudemire, Juanita Sawyer and Thera Clyburn. The family wishes to thank the staff of Oakhaven of Lexington and Amedisys Hospice for the care and devotion to their loved one.
