Obituary of Ed Patton

Ed "Glenn" Patton, 90, of West Columbia passed away Friday April 18, 2014. Born July 1, 1923, in Morganton, NC he was a son of the late Elbridge Freeman and Joseph Rueben Patton. Memorial service will be held Monday, April 21, 2014 at 2pm at Providence Presbyterian Church 1112 Hummingbird Drive West Columbia SC 29169. The family will greet guest after the service in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holy Angels of North Carolina 6600 Wilkinson Boulevard, Belmont, NC 28012-2796 Mr. Patton was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church in West Columbia, SC and was former owner of Carolina Collections, Inc. in Belmont, NC. He served his country proudly during WWII and served as a Combat Engineer in the South Pacific. He was an avid Nascar fan and loved to read. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved joking with others. Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 63years, Carolina Morrow Patton; son, Stoney Patton (Maria) of West Columbia, SC; granddaughters, Allison Patton Cantrel of West Columbia and Christian Patton Huggins (Cole) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; great-granddaughter, Caroline Cantrell. The family would like to thank the staff at National Healthcare-Lexington for their loving care and kindness.
