Obituary of Virginia Caroline Flachs Gilda

Virginia Caroline Flachs Gilda, 97 of St. Louis, MO passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 in Lexington, SC. Born in St. Louis, MO on August 6, 1916 she was the daughter of the late Walter Flachs and Agnes Wiedemieier Flachs. She is a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Florissant, MO and the Mended Hearts Organization. She was a former member of the Independent Congregational Church in Florissant, MO. She was active in the Women's Guild of The Independent Congregational Church and The Florissant Garden Club. Surviving are her daughter, Cynthia Reeves of Irmo, SC; grandsons, Jason Reeves of Raleigh, NC and Matthew Reeves of Lexington, SC; great-grandchildren, Linus and Isabella Reeves and numerous nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Clarence "Jim" Gilda and a brother, Walter Flachs. Services to honor both Virginia and Clarence Gilda will be held Saturday April 12th at 11:30am at Zion United Church of Christ in Florissant, MO. Memorials in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Gilda may be made to the American Heart Association, 460 N. Lindbergh Boulevard St Louis, MO 63141. Woodridge Funeral Home, Lexington SC is assisting the family.
