Obituary of Charles M Moody

Charles M. Moody, Sr, 87 of Hopkins entered Paradise January 4, 2014. Born on November 9, 1926 in Barnwell County he was the son of the late Charlie Henry Moody and Marie Strange Moody. Mr. Moody served in the US Army during WWII and after returning home he spent much of his life working in construction and clearing land with the tractors he enjoyed riding. Mr. Moody was employed with the City of Columbia until his retirement in 1999. Surviving to cherish his memory are his son, Chuck (Connie) Moody; daughter, Robin (Larry) Lane; son, Alan (Lynn) Moody; all of Hopkins, SC sisters, Myrtice Jenny and Eloise Stanley; 6 grandchildren and 7 1/2 great-grandchildren. Mr. Moody is predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Virginia Evelyn Moody. The family would like to send a special thank you to Palmetto Hospice Association for all their special care and Shantel Weston for her love and her big pink pocketbook that always brought laughter, smile and joy to various conversations. Memorial services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Mt. Elon Baptist Church, 718 Mt. Elon Church Road, Hopkins SC 29061.
