Obituary of Grover Addison Jeffcoat

G.A. (Bud) JEFFCOAT PROSPERITY, SC Grover Addison Jeffcoat, III, 61, of Prosperity passed away January 1, 2014. Born on June 18, 1952 in Columbia, SC. Mr. Jeffcoat served in the Army at Walter Reed Hospital Washington, D.C. during the Vietnam War. After his military service he received his formal education in orthotics at New York University and Northwestern University. He was instrumental in improving National Certification Standards for Orthotics and was a National Examiner for the industry. He was owner of Savannah Orthotics and Prosthetics and founding President of the Georgia Society of Orthotics and Prosthetics. He was active within his community and served 4 terms on city council for the City of Pooler, GA. Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 42 years, Debra James Jeffcoat; father, Grover A. Jeffcoat, Jr. and stepmother, Asta Jeffcoat of Burnsville, NC; daughter, Melissa (Mike) Howard, Pooler, GA; son, Blair (Amanda) Jeffcoat, Pooler, GA; sisters, Francie (Randy) Bryant, Prosperity, SC and Diane Thomas, Columbia, SC; brothers, Robbie (Cindy) Jeffcoat of Lexington, Mike Jeffcoat, Irmo, SC, Bill Jeffcoat, Charlotte, NC; brother-in-laws, Larry (Janice) and Jerry (Linda) James of Prosperity, SC; grandchildren, Logan Howard, Hunter Howard and Ashlyn Jeffcoat, Pooler, GA. He was predeceased by his mother, Helen Jeffcoat. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Zion United Methodist Church in Prosperity, SC and will be officiated by Pastor David Taylor.
