Big Dave was like a brother to me. We grew up across the street from each other. He looked out for me even if I was the one to pick a fight. Sometimes we called him "Willie D" just to get his goat. He taught me how to drive my daddy's car, the 1956 Plymouth Station Wagon when I was too little to reach the pedals. One year during high school at Lower Richland, we teamed up to make a science project. Our idea was to boil all of the fur off of a dead cat, and assemble the skeleton for all to see. The only problem is the 55 gallon drum we used to boil the cat stunk so bad that his Mother wouldn't let us do anything but dump it out and cover it up. After high school we tried to go to college. But neither one of us was really ready for that. Big Dave joined the Army Security Agency as a military police man. I was so impressed that I followed him about nine months later. Big Dave and I were part of the military intellignece community. Now that was funny. We both served our active duty time and returned to the USA. Both of us got married and both had children. Dave was a part of our family once again. He and I made a mess of parenting my son. But, we all loved being a family. I have so many stories that I could go on and on. The one thing I will say, is that Heaven is lucky to have him. He will keep everyone laughing and in good spirits. We will miss you greatly and think about you often. Little Brother, Steve Wichmann. .
