Obituary of Walter Thomas Rutledge

WEST COLUMBIA¬-Memorial services for Walter Thomas Rutledge, Jr., 86, of West Columbia will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2013 at Lexington Baptist Church Chapel, with Reverend Peter Creighton officiating. Burial will be private. The family has entrusted Woodridge Funeral Home with arrangements. Mr. Rutledge died Saturday, August 17, 2013. Born in Laurens, SC, he was the son of the late Walter T. Rutledge, Sr. and Frances Godfrey Ruthledge. Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years, Ruth Clark Rutledge of West Columbia; daughters, Mary Rutledge McGowan (Brad) of Driggs, ID, and Rebecca Rutledge Creighton (Peter) of West Columbia; granddaughter, Morgan Chuan Ke Creighton; and sisters, Ruth P. Martin of Greenwood, Lou R. Putman of Lexington and Ann R. Cox of Greenwood. In lieu of flowers, donations to The American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
